Yoga for the Pups January 2019 Recap

Yoga for the Pups January 2019 Recap

Yoga for the Pups - January 12, 2019 - Boston

What better way to kick off the start of a new year than with a Yoga for the Pups charity event?! On a very windy morning in Boston, we brought together 100 guests for a day of yoga, good food and great conversation, all to raise money for dogs in need. Our first Yoga for the Pups event of 2019 was held at the beautiful Aloft Boston Seaport Hotel and we were so glad to get another chance to travel up to Massachusetts to partner with Last Hope K9 Rescue

The morning began with a restorative yoga practice led by the always amazing Georgina Berbari, of The Little Flower Petal. We are so thankful that Georgina traveled up from NYC to lead the group. Georgina's classes are always powerful and meditative, and this one was the perfect way to wake up on a chilly Saturday.

After yoga was finished, the event doors opened up to a delicious lunch and dessert spread provided by honeygrow and P.S. Snacks. Our wonderful friends at honeygrow provided several salad options including the Make It Grain, as well as their brand new Vegan AF seasonal stir fry. Guests were able to do a little taste-testing if they wanted to, and everything was super fresh and filling. We are so grateful for honeygrow's continued support and generosity.

There's always room for dessert after lunch, right? We 100% think so. Our awesome bffs at P.S. Snacks popped up for the lunch hour to serve their absolutely delicious vegan cookie dough to guests. The P.S Snacks team even brought along various toppings to make the dessert experience even better! With choices such as Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Chip, and Peanut Butter, it's no wonder it all went so fast. We can't thank P.S Snacks enough for joining us and donating so many goodies.

The lunch hour wouldn't be the same without some pup snuggles and we were thrilled that the Last Hope K9 Rescue team brought along four of their sweet and loving foster dogs for guests to interact with. Last Hope K9 is 100% volunteer run and since 2012 they have helped almost 6,000 dogs find their forever homes! We are in awe of the work that they do for their community and we truly appreciated having some members of their team on-site for the day. It's not an understatement when we say that the rescue pups completely stole the show (and our hearts!).

Once everyone had their fill of lunch, refreshments and dog cuddles, we all headed back into the main event room for a live recording of The Chasing Joy Podcast with Georgie Morley. The Chasing Joy Podcast is one that will educate and inspire you with every listen, so we were extremely excited to have Georgie with us for the afternoon. Georgie sat down with our Founder, Christopher Cieri, to discuss what it takes to run a compassionate company and more generally, the wellness world. The discussion was insightful and eye-opening and we can't wait to re-listen once the podcast airs!

To finish out an amazing morning, we moved into our door prize raffle, sponsored by some of our all-time favorite brands. Nine lucky winners headed home with gifts from Blue State CoffeeCambridge Naturals, Spa Finder, Healthy Human, Stasher Bag, Daisyface Flow Yoga, Finding Inner Peace, and Franklin & Whitman. We want to give a huge shout out to our friends at these amazing brands for being so generous and helping to make the raffle so great. If you didn't win a prize, no worries! Each guest left with an amazing swag bag full of awesome goodies from our pals at Live Love Pop, Soom Foods, GoMacro, Square Organics, Simple Mills and Goodwipes. We are forever thankful to these companies for kindly donating to this charity event.

We truly want to thank all of the attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for helping to make our first Yoga for the Pups event of 2019 a major success. We are so grateful to have so many friends who support our social mission and as we look ahead into the new year, we cannot wait to bring you more charity events like this one.
