Yoga for the Pups Recap!

Yoga for the Pups Recap!

What better way to spend a beautiful summer morning than with a Rooftop Yoga for the Pups charity event?! On a gorgeous Philly morning, we brought together 55 guests for a few hours of yoga, amazing food & drink, and great conversation, all to raise money for dogs in need. Our first Rooftop Yoga for the Pups event of 2021 was held on the beautiful roof of Bok Bar and we were so glad to get yet another chance to partner with the PA SPCA! The morning was peaceful and everyone received boxed water at their yoga mats (mats included, but guests had the option to BYOM). We began with a restorative yoga practice led by the always amazing Sydni Arnett. We are so thankful that Sydni lent us her incredible yogi talents to lead the group. Sydni’s class was powerful, meditative and strengthening; the perfect way to kickstart your Sunday!

After a revitalizing practice came the door prize raffle, sponsored by some of our all-time favorite brands. Door prizes were so graciously donated by Yoga Habit, F45 Northern Liberties, Barry’s, Stay Lokal, Wag Days, United By Blue, The Wellness Refinery, Fringe Salon and Franklin & Whitman. Some lucky winners headed home with self-care kits, giftcards, free yoga classes and more. We want to give a huge shout out to our friends at these selfless brands for being so generous and making the raffle so great. We are forever thankful to our door prize sponsors for being so kind! Don’t worry about the attendees that didn't win a prize, each guest left with a swag bag full of Franklin & Whitman Face Masks Hand Wash and more! The true winner of the day was owner of F&W, Christopher Cieri, because we are so so excited to announce that at the event an adorable pup named Kai found a furever home! Just like past events, Chris covers the cost of any adoption fees and will continue to do so for future events!

After the winners were announced guests were invited to relax and dig into a delicious lunch, drinks, and dessert provided by our amazing event sponsors. Our insanely talented friends at Miles Table provided several incredible salad options for everyone to enjoy paired with the magnificent views of our unbelievable city. While munching on their delish salads, our guests were able to quench their thirst with nourishing and yummy kombucha options provided by Baba’s Bucha - my personal fave Purple Rain was so refreshing after our yoga sesh! A Philly classic and our dear friends, La Colombe, provided draft lattes (dairy free options included) for everyone to kick start their Sunday afternoon. And of course, there's always room for dessert, right? 100%! What a better way to cool down than to grub on some ice cream crafted by our awesome bffs at Milk Jawn (vegan ice cream also provided!) Here at Franklin & Whitman we take sustainability seriously, so we made sure we had recycling receptacles for the boxed water containers and La Colombe cans. Baba’s Bucha glass bottles were donated to Remark Glass to be upcycled into drinking glasses. Our guests were able to meet Nurse Suzie Devine and reps from Binto, shop their amazing products, and receive a free trial of their Synbiotic supplement as a gift as well! We are so grateful for all of our sponsor partners for their continued support and generosity!

The morning wouldn't be complete without the entertainment for the day -  energetic pups running around and playing with our guests. We were thrilled that the PA SPCA team brought along some of their sweet and loving rescue dogs (we’re so happy for you Kai!) for guests to fall in love with. We are in awe of the work that they do for the Philly community and we truly appreciated having some members of their volunteer team visit. It's not an understatement when we say that the rescue pups completely stole the show (and our hearts!).

We truly want to thank all of the attendees, volunteers, sponsors, and especially Sydni for helping to make the event a major success. With such a wonderful community we can change the world. We are so thankful to have so many friends in our community who support our social mission. We absolutely cannot wait for our next rooftop event, Fightin’ for the Pups, featuring a boxing cardio class and lunch on August 2021!
