EACH MONTH WE WILL BE HIGHLIGHTING ONE DOG AT THE PENNSYLVANIA SPCA THAT IS IN NEED OF A LOVING HOME. NOT ONLY WILL WE BE TELLING EACH PUP'S STORY, WE WILL ALSO BE PAYING FOR THE ADOPTION FEE FOR THAT PUP IF ONE OF OUR AMAZING CUSTOMERS GIVES THEM A LOVING HOME. HELP US HELP THEM!
MEET TUX
Name: Tux
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Approximate Age: 9 years old
Meet Tux, a nine-year old Labrador Retriever mix who can currently be found at the Philadelphia PSPCA. The team at the shelter believes he could be part Bernese Mountain dog as well! Tux is a super sweet senior dog who was surrendered to the PSPCA Danville Center after his owner could no longer take care of him.
Tux came into the shelter with his canine brother Loner, who wouldn’t be a loner for long as he was adopted quickly. This leaves nine-year old Tux alone at the shelter, waiting for his lucky break. Let's find this gentle pup his match!
Not much is known about Tux's background, but we believe that he may have gone all of his life without learning how to properly walk on a leash. However, he's got a major pep in his step and looks forward to being shown the ropes! Tux gets quite excited to go outside, but can be easily distracted. He may lead you on a bit of an adventure, but he'll be smiling the whole way.
This furry boy may not be a professional at walking on the leash, but he knows how to respond to basic commands such as "sit" and "down." Just look at the photo above for proof - what an angel! Tux can be shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he's truly going to love you forever. He's goofy, happy, and absolutely loves human interaction. Tux is a candidate to go into a home with other dogs, and/or with children ages 12 and up!
